
Student Checklist
The checklist below is your road map to participate in commencement.
1. Confirm your commencement eligibility and graduation status
Undergraduate students who are eligible to participate in Commencement 2026 will have the following Expected Graduation Terms:
- Summer 2025
- Fall 2025
- Winter 2026
- Spring 2026
- Summer 2026
- Fall 2026
To graduate, you must apply for graduation separately from commencement by the deadline stated in the Academic and Administrative Calendar with the Office of the Registrar.
Graduate students who are eligible to participate in Commencement 2026 will graduate in the following quarters:
- Summer 2025
- Fall 2025
- Winter 2026
- Spring 2026
To apply to graduate with a master’s degree or Ph.D., you must apply to the Division of Graduate Studies.
2. Order your cap and gown (regalia)
Rental orders will ship in mid-April. Deadline to order is May 18, 2026, at 8:59 pm.
Students are welcome to decorate their caps as long as they adhere to Student Conduct & Community Standards and do not obstruct anyone’s view. Students are welcome to wear cords, stoles, flower leis, and kukui necklaces.
Please note that regalia is not required to participate in commencement.
3. Attend upcoming events (optional)
- Graduation & Commencement Virtual Information Session | Wednesday, March 4, 2026 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Please note that this session will be recorded and subsequently made available on the commencement website.
- Grad Fair | Tuesday, April 14 and Wednesday, April 15, 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. at the Stevenson Event Center
- What to Expect at Commencement Webinar | Wednesday, June 3, 2026 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

4. Register for commencement
Commencement registration will open on Monday, March 30, and close on Monday, May 11, at 11:59 p.m. PST.
Commencement registration opens on the morning of Monday, March 30. Students are encouraged to register for the ceremony associated with their college affiliation.
Students affiliated with Crown, Merrill, College Nine, and John R. Lewis College will have 24 hours of early access (March 30–31) to register for their respective ceremonies before registration opens to all other students.
Eligible students will receive an email with registration details, including a link to register, at the appropriate date and time.
Participation is not guaranteed if you attempt to register after the deadline.
5. Take the First Destination Survey
All graduating seniors should complete the First Destination Survey. The survey asks students about plans after completing a degree—whether seeking employment, working, going to graduate school, or pursuing other interests.
